Yuzu Money
About
Yuzu Money is an institutional-grade yield platform offering risk-managed DeFi strategies and tokenized real-world assets (RWA) for accredited investors, neobanks, and wealth managers. The platform provides two main product suites: DeFi Suite with overcollateralized yield-bearing stablecoins (yzUSD, syzUSD, yzPP), and RWA Suite with tokenized Treasury bills and AAA-rated CLOs. It focuses on capital preservation through comprehensive risk management including risk tranching, real-time monitoring, and on-chain transparency.
Where Does Yield Come From?
Yuzu Money generates yield through six main strategies, split between its two product lines: Yuzu Alpha (focused on DeFi) and Yuzu Prime (focused on real-world assets). The strategies are:
- Tokenized U.S. Treasury Bills: Buying tokenized versions of short-term U.S. government debt through partners like Superstate, Securitize, and Centrifuge.
- AAA-rated Collateralized Loan Obligations (CLOs): Investing in the safest, top-priority slices of packaged corporate loans.
- Overcollateralized lending: Lending to verified institutional borrowers through platforms like Maple Finance and Syrup. Borrowers put up more digital asset collateral than the loan value, providing a safety cushion.
- Funding rate arbitrage: Capturing consistent price differences in funding rates between platforms like Ethena and Hyperliquid.
- Leveraged positions: Taking controlled, borrowed positions on fundamentally sound assets, while staying within safe loan-to-value limits.
- Cross-chain stablecoin arbitrage: Buying and selling a basket of stablecoins (like
USDT,USDC,DAI) across different blockchains to profit from temporary price differences.
For the DeFi Suite, yields (currently ranging from 8% to 37%) flow through a risk-layering structure. The main stablecoin, yzUSD, is the senior layer, which is overcollateralized—backed by at least 107.2% in collateral. It is supported by a Reserve Fund and the yzPP junior layer, which absorbs first losses if any strategy underperforms.
The yield generation process involves: programmatically discovering opportunities across DeFi protocols, analyzing risks (covering oracle design and smart contract exposure), semi-autonomous execution via Fordefi MPC with controls for timing and slippage, and continuous monitoring via Hypernative for exploit detection.
The RWA Suite targets yields between 3.7% and 8% by investing in tokenized real-world assets. This includes returns slightly higher than typical short-term rates (from Treasury Bills) and moderately leveraged real-world asset strategies.
All strategies are 100% on-chain and can be verified through the Accountable dashboard. New assets must pass an Asset Whitelist with a 7-day activation period before being used.
Audits
| Audit / Date | Findings | Verdict |
|---|---|---|
Pashov Audit Group28-08-2025 - 01-09-2025 |
| The audit identified multiple high-severity accounting and manipulation vulnerabilities, but the team resolved most issues before deployment, leaving only two low-risk acknowledged items that don't critically impact protocol safety. |
Dedaub30-09-2025 - 06-10-2025 |
| The audit found no critical or high-severity vulnerabilities, with the single medium-severity issue resolved; however, the protocol remains highly centralized with significant admin control over key functions and value calculations. |
Pashov Audit Group14-01-2026 - 18-01-2026 |
| The audit uncovered no critical or high-severity vulnerabilities, with all medium and low issues either resolved or acknowledged, indicating a generally secure codebase with mostly edge-case and usability improvements needed. |
Dedaub02-02-2026 - 05-02-2026 |
| The audit found no major security vulnerabilities, with only low-severity and advisory issues identified, indicating the protocol's V2 PSM module additions are relatively secure from a technical perspective, though centralization risks remain inherent to the design. |
