USDU Finance

About

USDU Finance is a modular stablecoin protocol built on Ethereum that provides a stablecoin (USDU) with integrated yield-generating vault adapters. The protocol enables users to mint USDU against various collateral types while earning yield through integrated DeFi protocol adapters like Morpho, Curve, and TermMax. It features role-based governance and a reward distribution system for protocol participants.

Where Does Yield Come From?

USDU Finance generates yield through special connectors called vault adapters. These adapters link to outside DeFi platforms to earn returns on the assets users supply.

The protocol has modular adapters for three main areas: Morpho (for lending markets), Curve (for liquidity pools), and TermMax (for advanced yield optimization strategies).

Holders of USDU and people who provide collateral can earn yield in several ways:

  • Lending markets: USDU is used as the loan token. Borrowers put up collateral like USDC, WETH, cbBTC, or USDU-USDC Curve LP tokens to borrow USDU. Lenders earn interest on these loans.
  • Interest rate mechanisms: These settings decide how much borrowers pay and lenders earn. Each type of collateral has its own borrowing limit relative to its value—for example, WETH allows borrowing up to 86% of its value, while USDC allows up to 91.5%.
  • Curve LP token integration: By supplying liquidity to Curve pools, the protocol earns fees from trading activity.
  • TermMax integration: This connects to TermMax’s strategies to seek higher returns through automated yield optimization.

The overall yield structure is built to capture lending spreads (the difference between borrowing and lending rates), liquidity provider fees, and gains from optimization strategies across all the connected platforms. Rewards are then distributed to participants through a dedicated reward system.
