USDT0

About

USDT0 is an omnichain stablecoin infrastructure protocol that expands the USDT standard to new blockchains using LayerZero's OFT (Omnichain Fungible Token) standard. It enables seamless cross-chain transfers while maintaining 1:1 backing with USDT on Ethereum, connecting both new chains via native USDT0 tokens and legacy USDT deployments through its "Legacy Mesh" system. The protocol provides fast, low-cost interoperability without fragmented liquidity pools or wrapped tokens.

Where Does Yield Come From?

USDT0 is primarily a system for moving stablecoins across different blockchains, not a protocol designed to directly create yield.

Its revenue comes from a small 0.03% fee (3 basis points) applied to transfers that use its "Legacy Mesh." This mesh connects the original USDT deployments on several blockchains: Ethereum, Tron, TON, Arbitrum, Solana, and CELO. The fee is paid in the specific token being transferred.

For transfers using the newer native USDT0 tokens (which use LayerZero's OFT standard), USDT0 itself charges no additional fees. Users only pay the standard messaging costs required by the LayerZero network.

The protocol does not offer its own built-in yield features. There is no native staking, liquidity mining, or yield farming within USDT0.

Instead, USDT0 enables yield opportunities indirectly. By providing fast and low-cost movement of stablecoin liquidity across chains, it allows users to easily access a wide range of DeFi (decentralized finance) applications on different networks. Users can then pursue external yield-generating activities on those integrated platforms, such as lending, borrowing, or providing liquidity.
