Tharwa Protocol

About

Tharwa Protocol is an institutional-grade treasury infrastructure offering dual-lane access to real-world asset yields. The platform provides AI-managed portfolio allocation across diversified assets including sukuk, UAE real estate, gold, oil, and for global markets, T-bills and conventional fixed income. It caters to both faith-conscious investors seeking Shariah-compliant exposure and global institutional investors through separate but integrated financial systems.

Where Does Yield Come From?

Tharwa Protocol generates earnings by putting user deposits to work in real-world assets. When someone mints the stablecoin thUSD by depositing other stablecoins, those funds are spread across a mix of assets managed by an AI system called the Confluence Engine.

The earnings come from several sources:

  • Rental income from properties in the UAE
  • Commodity performance from gold and oil holdings
  • Fixed-income returns from sukuk (Shariah-compliant bonds)
  • In the separate global-markets lane (wthUSD): returns from U.S. Treasury bills and conventional bonds

These earnings reach users through different products:

  • Tharwa Bonds — fixed-term vaults with a set return rate. Each vault is represented as a tradeable digital token (ERC-1155 NFT).
  • sthUSD — a yield-bearing stablecoin whose return changes over time based on how the real-world assets perform. It follows the ERC-4626 standard.
  • wsthUSD (coming soon) — the same concept but for global markets.

The protocol keeps a 1:1 backing (every thUSD is fully supported by assets), and the real-world reserves are verifiable on the blockchain. A risk-management method called CVaR (conditional value at risk) helps guard against extreme losses.

On fees: vault products charge a penalty for early exits, but sthUSD has no entry or exit fees.

In short, earnings flow from the performance of the underlying real-world assets, through the AI portfolio manager, and out to users via these yield-bearing tokens and vault products.
