BitSafe (CBTC)

About

BitSafe is a decentralized infrastructure platform on the Canton Network that issues CBTC, a 1:1 Bitcoin-backed token secured by FROST threshold signatures and a decentralized network of institutional-grade Attestor nodes. It provides institutional trading desks, prop trading firms, and DeFi builders with private, MEV-free Bitcoin on Canton for margin flows, collateralized lending, cross-venue trading, and vault deployment — eliminating single points of failure through distributed trust.

Where Does Yield Come From?

CBTC holders and traders can earn yield through two main layers.

1. Canton Network rewards (Canton Coin / CC)

Every legitimate CBTC transaction earns CC rewards on top of any trading profit or loss. This includes:

  • Market-making trades, arbitrage, and inventory rebalancing
  • Spot trades and basis trades (CBTC vs BTC)
  • Lending and providing liquidity

There is no minimum trade size. Certain venues, like Temple Digital CLOB, offer a 40% bonus on top of standard CBTC rewards.

2. DeFi activity on Canton

Users can earn yield through:

  • Providing liquidity on automated market makers (AMMs) like TradeCraft
  • Lending through collateralized lending protocols
  • Over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives with 2–4 hour margin cycles
  • Basis trading between CBTC and BTC across Canton and other venues

Important rules and notes

  • All yield-generating activity must involve real economic risk. Scripted back-and-forth transfers meant only to farm rewards are flagged and shut down.
  • BitSafe does not charge a protocol-level fee for minting or burning CBTC.
  • BitSafe also offers a Vaults product, where third parties can launch custom vaults on BitSafe's infrastructure and set their own fee structures.
  • Per official disclosures, yields are targets and not guaranteed. Canton Coin rewards depend on tokenomics and market conditions.
